The Kamzang Fund | Giving Back
There are many worthwhile causes in Nepal, India, Tibet and the Himalayan regions where we live, travel, cycle, and trek. The Kamzang Fund arranges the logistics to sponsor Himalayan children that have fallen through the cracks for their educations (The Kamzang Kids), provides medical aid for villagers in remote Himalayan regions and helps Himalayan nomads, whose lives are always extremely precarious. Generally, our causes find us, and our trekkers, cyclists, and friends have been incredibly generous over the past two decades, providing sponsorship to over 35 children, these nomads and many medical cases!
The Kamzang Fund donates 100% of contributions to the children or medical cases. We don’t charge any administrative fees, so every cent of what you contribute goes directly to the villagers in need. Our aim is to give grass-roots support to these Himalayan regions which have given us all so much over the past 20 years!

A donation to the Kamzang Fund goes directly to children who have extra needs during their education (including medical assistance, clothes or housing), villagers that we meet during our travels that require medical assistance, Himalayan nomads or other of our many Kamzang Fund social projects. You can sponsor a child yearly, or make a donation to a child’s education, or donate to the Kamzang Fund – all of your donations go 100% to our causes!

Financial Assistance for Disaster, Health & Lifestyle
We look for (or they find us) find medical cases that have ‘fallen through the cracks’, such as Susma who got cleft lip surgery in Kathmandu at age 7, and Tsering Kondo who had her hearing tested in Kathmandu and got a hearing aid. The Kamzang Fund provided nearly $50,000 in direct aid to Nepalis after the tragic 2015 earthquake. We aid the nomads in Upper Mustang and Ladakh (Indian Himalaya) when they lose their livestock after harsh winters. We meet many people on the trail in remote regions that desperately need help, so we do what we can to better their lives. We also initiate water, sanitation and solar projects that will hopefully improve the lives of remote villagers …
